• Design, develop, andoptimizelogical and physical database models to support business and technical requirements
• Oversee the architecture, implementation, and management ofhighly available, scalable, and secure database solutions (on-premises and/or cloud)
• Set database standards, guidelines, and best practices for data modeling, data integrity, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery
• Collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into robust database designs
• Evaluate and recommend new database technologies, tools, and platforms to meet evolving business requirements
• Lead orparticipatein database migration, integration, and modernization initiative
• Monitor database performance,identifybottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies foroptimalefficiency
• Enforce data governance policies and ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations
• Mentor andprovidetechnical guidance to database administrators and junior engineers
• Develop andmaintaindatabase documentation, architecture diagrams, and data dictionaries

• Supports GEODIS’ programs for Safety, Health, Environment,Quality ,Ethics, Compliance,CSRand Sustainability

• 8+ years of experience in database design, architecture, and administration
• Deepexpertisein relational (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL) database technologies
• Experience with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security best practices
• Proficient in SQL, data modeling tools, and scripting languages
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data solutions is a plus. (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift,Big Query)
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
  Azure Database Administrator, AWS Certified Database – Specialty, or equivalent are a plus
• Experience with distributed database systems and sharding strategies
• Exposure to real-time streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis)

• Strong documentation and presentation skills Abilityto work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of database security, encryption, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) for database provisioning
