* Job Summary:

** The Department of Surgery is accepting applications for an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant) in our Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery. This position will focus on patients with skin-related malignancies and cutaneous tumors requiring surgical intervention.
This role includes evaluations of new patients with suspected or confirmed skin malignancies, preoperative workups, post-operative management, independently perform minor cutaneous procedures and long-term surveillance.

Experience with or interest in performing minor procedures is preferred. The APP clinic sites will include the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center in Lebanon, TN and potentially other VICC/VUMC locations. The APP will play a vital role in optimizing patient care and clinic workflow, ensuring the surgeons can focus on complex cases and providing timely care to new patients..

** The Vanderbilt Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery, a part of the Vanderbilt Department of Surgery, has quickly become a national leader in comprehensive surgical care. Our emphasis is placed on the evaluation and treatment of patients with benign and malignant tissue disorders.

We use a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and work closely to coordinate our efforts with the Divisions of Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Hematology, Surgical Pathology, Radiology and other disciplines.

The Division is an integral part of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and the Vanderbilt Breast Center and provides specialized care through our Endocrine Surgery Center and Pancreas Center.
** Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center** (VICC) is a leader in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The centers world-renowned team of experts provides an integrated, personalized and  patient-centered approach to cancer care, including treatment, research, support, education and outreach. With a wide variety of wellness programs, patients find support from diagnosis through survivorship. VICC is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
** POSITION SHIFT
*** 4 days per week in clinic (8am-5pm) with 1 administrative day (2 days-Lebanon; 2 days - other VUMC locations)
* No call, nights or weekends
** KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Obtains and documents a health history; performs and documents complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment and plan of care.
* In collaboration, provides healthcare services for primary, acute and complex care of patients and manages patient's overall care, identifying expected outcomes for diagnoses.
* Orders, performs, interprets and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated.
* Forms differential diagnoses and treats acute and chronic conditions.
* Prescribes therapeutic interventions both pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic and surgical, needed to achieve expected outcomes.
* Utilizes evidence-based, approved practice protocols in planning and implementing care;
* Initiates appropriate referrals and consultations;
