Who We Are

Haven Birth and Wellness was started in 2017 by Nurse-Midwife, Lauren Drees who desired to provide care in a different way than what she was seeing being offered in middle TN. As a practice we have grown into a family where we truly value and care for one another. If you join our team you are getting more than a job but a community of women who will value and support you in the work you do as well as life outside of work.

As a practice we are committed to caring for women in exceptional ways. We do this by seeking to know women deeply, honoring her God-given worth, and equipping her to confidently launch in the next season. We provide safe, compassionate care in both our office and home settings, focusing on the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our clients.

To us, healthcare isn t a series of appointments. It s a relationship. We take the time to truly know our clients, care for them as individuals, and walk alongside them.

I love the freedom to serve women in a setting that allows for individualized care that helps them feel seen, empowered, and equipped for whatever comes next. And I love being part of a team that surrounds and upholds each other.

One thing I really love about working at Haven is that we share the patient load. That means we get to have real, meaningful time off, which I think helps prevent burnout. The women I work with and the way we practice are what keep me here. We trust the process of pregnancy and birth. We practice holistically and with a low-intervention approach, but we re knowledgeable and not afraid to intervene when it s necessary.

I never imagined I d become a home birth midwife, but now I can t imagine practicing anywhere else.

I m so grateful to be part of a team that loves on each other and our clients so well. Every person is intentional, caring, honoring, and gracious toward one another and everyone we care for.

As a Haven midwife, you ll join a team of Certified Nurse-Midwives, RNs, and Nurse Practitioners providing home birth and women s healthcare throughout Middle Tennessee.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Attending home births alongside an RN birth assistant.
• Providing prenatal, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Conducting prenatal and postpartum visits in our Brentwood office and in clients  homes.
• Meeting with prospective home birth families through consultations.
• Providing well-woman care, annual GYN exams, and routine women s health services.
• Working collaboratively with the Haven team to provide exceptional, individualized care.

We average approximately 16 births each month. Midwives participate in a balanced rotation of clinic days, primary call, and occasional second-call backup, allowing our clients to benefit from a collaborative model of care while maintaining continuity throughout their pregnancy and birth experience.

We re looking for someone who:

• Is a Certified Nurse-Midwife with at least one year of experience as a CNM (out-of-hospital experience preferred).
• Believes every woman has God-given value, deserving to be known deeply and cared for with excellence.
• Loves caring for women through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
• Is confident in physiologic birth while exercising sound clinical judgment when intervention is needed.
• Is kind, humble, and eager to continue learning.
• Values teamwork and enjoys being part of a close-knit practice.

Salary is dependent on experience.
