Sales Specialist (senior living)

As a Sales Specialist you will travel to communities within Northeast Ohio, including the Akron, Cleveland & Canton markets. You will generate high‑volume recurring streams of new move‑in revenue for assigned Brookdale communities experiencing non‑exempt sales associate vacancies. Assignments will vary in length and may change with little notice.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant and recent sales experience. Senior Living experience required
  • A proven track record of generating and closing a high percentage of qualified leads
  • Ability to effectively listen and communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Must be self‑directed, able to prioritize tasks as well as have the ability to accept directives
  • Team player with industry knowledge and the ability to connect with families
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong working knowledge of technology, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and electronic documentation

Base Pay & Incentives

Base pay in range will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Full‑time associates in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus incentive. Temporary associates are not benefit‑eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field and one to two years of experience. Additional years of related work experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year‑for‑year basis up to four years.

Special Requirements

Works on short‑term strategic assignments within specified geographic area. Requires a valid driver’s license and frequent car and/or air travel as needed.

Management Decision Making

Applies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department. Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on precedent, example, reasonableness or a combination of these.

Knowledge and Skills

Possesses extensive knowledge of a distinct skill or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment. Has working knowledge of a functional discipline. Knowledge of sales and marketing to include principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services to include marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations to include applicable processes for the product line(s) being sold.

Knowledge of state regulations impacting or directing the delivery of services. Ability to operate smartphones, personal computers, and related software. Ability to effectively manage time, tasks, and projects in a dynamic environment is required.…
