This is a full-time, 1099 Independent Sales Representative role in orthopedics, based in Tennessee. The Independent Sales Rep will build and manage relationships with orthopedic surgeons, clinical staff, and healthcare facilities, serving as a key point of contact for NEXGEN’s orthopedic product portfolio. Daily responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, conducting product demonstrations, supporting cases in the operating room as appropriate, and educating clinical teams on product features and benefits.
The role includes managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualifying leads to closing, while maintaining accurate records of activities, forecasts, and pipeline updates. The Independent Sales Rep will collaborate with internal teams and manufacturing partners to ensure timely product delivery, provide responsive customer support, and stay current on industry trends and competitive products.
- Strong orthopedic or medical device sales skills, including territory development, relationship building, and closing new business.
- Ability to conduct professional product presentations, in-services, and case support within surgical and clinical environments.
- Proficiency in consultative selling, needs assessment, and solution-based discussions with surgeons and clinical staff.
- Solid organizational, time-management, and pipeline management skills, with comfort using CRM or sales tracking tools.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and facilities.
- Prior experience in orthopedic, spine, pain management, wound care, or related medical device sales is highly preferred.
- Comfort working as a 1099 independent contractor, including self-motivation, accountability, and business acumen.
- Ability to cover accounts located in Tennessee, with regular travel to regional healthcare facilities as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant sales experience.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to meet credentialing requirements for hospital and surgical access.
