This is a highly skilled, multi-craft maintenance position responsible for the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of complex industrial machinery and electrical systems within an operational plant. The role requires expert proficiency in industrial electricity up to 480v experience, and includes PLC programming, troubleshooting and repairs skills on PLC's, motor drives, starters, and circuit installation. The individual is expected to utilize blueprints and precision tools to diagnose malfunctions, execute preventative maintenance, adhere strictly to safety protocols (like Arc Flash safety), and contribute actively to training and continuous process improvement initiatives.
This is a second shift role that works from 2 PM to 1 AM Monday-Thursday, most weeks have OT on Fridays. Will get a minimum of 10 hours OT/week. You will start off on first shift until you are trained and up to speed.
RequirementsDiagnose and Repair Industrial Systems: Inspect, troubleshoot, and analyze failures in complex equipment, making necessary repairs and adjustments to tools, systems, and major electrical infrastructure (power, light, and control circuits).
PLC and Automation Expertise: Install, troubleshoot, and program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and AC/DC digital drives, and work proficiently with sensors, relays, and other control components.
Education & Experience: Requires a Journeyman Certificate. Must have a strong working knowledge of the electrical and mechanical operations of all major production equipment
Apprenticeship & Certification: Must successfully complete a four-year state-approved Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship program, which includes approximately 765 classroom hours and 8,000 hours of related on-the-job experience.
Technical Knowledge: Must understand and have a working knowledge of the operation, correct application, and method of use for various measuring instruments used in maintenance repairs.
Reasoning & Problem-Solving: Ability to solve practical problems, interpret complex instructions/blueprints, and exercise considerable judgment in selecting and using materials and tools for construction and maintenance.
Physical Demands: Required to frequently walk, stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required (close, distance, depth perception).
