General Medicine Registered Nurse

Mission Health, a comprehensive healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a General Medicine Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to a diverse general medical population, supporting patients and families through all stages of the care continuum. You will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, and monitor patient progress using evidence-based nursing practices and clinical judgment.

Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and support staff, you will coordinate care to ensure safe and effective transitions, clear communication, and a consistent focus on patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities include accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, participation in bedside shift reports and care conferences, and adherence to all infection prevention, quality, and regulatory standards.

As a General Medicine RN at Mission Health, you will educate patients and their families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and self-care strategies, promoting health literacy and empowering patients to participate actively in their care. You will triage changes in patient condition, respond to emergencies, and elevate concerns appropriately, utilizing clinical protocols and your critical-thinking skills.
