Role Overview
As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the Registered Nurse Trauma Spine Med Surg department. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team, providing personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care following established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. You will advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient’s medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding.
- Background in Trauma, Neurosurgery, or Med‑Surg registered nursing.
- Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Valid RN license in the State of North Carolina.
- Sign-on bonus available with a two-year commitment. Eligibility: new hires; prior employees must be separated from Mission Health for at least six months to be re-eligible.
