Nurse Extern Neurology PRN

Mission Health, a comprehensive healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Nurse Extern Neurology PRN to support our neurology unit within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting with safe, compassionate, and evidence‑based care for patients with a variety of neurological conditions, including stroke, seizures, neuromuscular disorders, and post‑operative neurosurgical needs.

As a Nurse Extern, you will gain hands‑on experience performing basic patient care activities such as vital signs, hygiene and comfort measures, mobility and positioning, intake and output monitoring, and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. You will collaborate closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, and other members of the interprofessional team to support individualized care plans, participate in patient and family education, and help maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment.

This PRN position offers flexible, as‑needed scheduling that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, making it ideal for nursing students who wish to build clinical skills while continuing their education.
