Job SummaryProvides leadership which facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well‑being of patients. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Implements medically prescribed interventions.
What you will do in this role- Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient’s medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
- Required
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN program with completion within 5 years of hire. RNs with 10 years or more of experience are exempt. - Preferred Education:
Master’s in Nursing. - Required License/
Certifications:
Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC license may apply; verify with NCBON. - Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider.
- Required Experience:
One-year hospital nursing experience.
