BREWER SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

Brewer Community School (PK-8) IT Technician

Full time, 260 days/year, 95% employer paid single health insurance coverage and 100% employer paid dental insurance coverage, with dependent coverages available.  Salary range: $51,071 - $58,313. The Brewer School Department is seeking an individual with experience in multiple IT platforms. Experience with the physical repair of Chromebook computers is important, as well as knowledge of their operating systems. A minimum of two years experience in a school-related technical support position is highly desired.

Additional strengths include experience with Google Admin and network/server infrastructure. The successful candidate will have strong problem solving skills, be organized and maintain a professional appearance. They will work independently, be self-motivated and have experience working with large deployments of technology. This job requires strong interpersonal skills, face-to-face communication and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once.

Qualifications
  • Postsecondary IT education highly preferred
  • Proficient in the Google Admin Suite
  • Proficient in Active Directory
  • Proficient in Unifi Network (access points and wireless controllers or equivalent)
  • Comfortable with Mac, PC and Chrome platforms
  • Can troubleshoot and fix issues with Chromebooks
  • Can troubleshoot, fix, and install projectors, Apple TVs and other devices necessary for the classroom environment
  • Understand security cameras and how to troubleshoot
  • Demonstrate a positive, professional relationship with students and colleagues
  • Able to communicate effectively and collaborate with IT team
Performance Responsibilities
  • Work with high school staff and students in troubleshooting and maintaining technology equipment
  • Maintain inventory of student technology equipment and staff equipment
  • Repair student Chromebooks and staff equipment
  • Work with other IT staff to provide technical support for the district
  • Perform any other duties as determined by the IT Director

GDA-R Regulation IT Technician

The successful candidate must have or be able to obtain CHRC Approval (fingerprinting and background check) from the Maine Department of Education.
