Position SummaryThe Cellar & Operations Technician supports daily brewery operations with a primary focus on cellar work, keg management, and wholesale keg delivery. This role is critical to maintaining product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-minded, physically capable, and excited to support both the brewhouse and the taproom.
This position combines hands‑on production support with external‑facing responsibilities through wholesale keg delivery and customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities- Perform keg washing, sanitizing, filling, and staging for taproom and wholesale accounts
- Execute tank cleaning and sanitation (CIP) according to brewery SOPs
- Assist with cellar operations including beer transfers, dry hopping support, carbonation checks, and yeast handling as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of cellar, cold storage, and production areas
- Monitor and report on keg inventory, cooperage condition, and cellar supplies
- Follow all quality, safety, and sanitation standards
- Deliver kegs to wholesale accounts in a safe, timely, and professional manner
- Load and unload kegs and equipment (full and empty)
- Maintain delivery vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance needs
- Serve as a brand ambassador while interacting with accounts
- Accurately complete delivery logs and paperwork
- Assist with taproom keg changes and draft system support as needed
- Support general brewery operations during busy periods or events
- Help maintain overall brewery cleanliness and safety standards
- Prior experience in a brewery, cellar, warehouse, or beverage production environment preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely lift and move kegs (up to 165lbs with assistance or equipment)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in wet, cold, and physically demanding environments
- Previous cellar or packaging experience
- Familiarity with brewery safety practices, chemicals, and SOPs
- Forklift or pallet jack experience (or willingness to be trained)
- Knowledge of draft systems and keg maintenance
- Standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods
- Repetitive motions and work in confined spaces and lift 50lbs
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional early mornings or weekends
- Production brewery environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, CO2, chemicals, and moving equipment
