The Town of Brewster is currently seeking an organized and detail oriented administrative professional for the position of Assistant Town Clerk. This position performs highly skilled administrative and record-keeping work to support major departmental functions and requires a strong attention to detail.
Under the general supervision of the Town Clerk, the Assistant Town Clerk performs administrative, supervisory, and support work related to managing elections and Town meetings, maintaining accurate records of births, deaths, marriages, licenses, permits, and the annual town census. This position interacts with the public frequently responding to questions, inquiries, and requests for information.
The ideal candidate is a friendly outgoing self-starter, with excellent multitasking skills with the ability to switch back and form between tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
Associate’s degree in business; bachelor’s degree preferred; with a minimum five years of administrative or business experience; municipal experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

This is full-time, 35 hour a week position, covered under the Town’s OPEIU Union agreement, with a pay range of $32.34 – $42.19 per hour, starting pay depending on qualifications and experience.
