Teacher Support Specialist - Vocational Program
Join our team today as a Teacher Support Specialist in our Vocational Program! Are you passionate about empowering students to gain independence and build meaningful careers? Join Latham Centers as a Job Coach and make a real difference! In this role, you’ll mentor and guide students (ages 14+) by identifying their strengths, exploring career paths, and creating personalized vocational plans in collaboration with our Career Services Manager.
You’ll use creativity and community resources to provide hands‑on instruction, support, and positive role modeling, helping students develop the confidence and skills they need for success. No experience is required—we provide full training to help you succeed!

Location: Brewster, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Compensation: $20.00 – $21.50 per hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities- Identify each student’s strengths and interests to guide them toward meaningful employment opportunities
- Serve as a job coach for both on‑campus and community‑based employment, providing hands‑on support and guidance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community employers to create and sustain job opportunities for students
- Monitor and assess student job performance, tracking progress toward IEP‑based goals and benchmarks
- Support students in developing workplace skills and ensuring they meet their employment responsibilities with confidence
- Implement individualized support and behavior plans, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Stay current on mandatory trainings and certifications to provide the highest level of support
- Provide therapeutic crisis intervention as necessary, ensuring student safety and well‑being
- Perform duties within the scope of the role, with flexibility to assist in occasional emergency situations
- Maintain professional appearance, demonstrate empathy, and communicate effectively in English
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to physically intervene in instances of extreme behavior to ensure student and staff safety
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Strong time management skills
