The Temporary Equine Program Teacher is responsible for providing safe, engaging, and educational equine program for special education students; focusing on teaching groundwork lessons, equine knowledge; vocational activities in a relationship-based therapeutic environment. Is a member of the equine team, managing horses in a working barn and supporting and/or participating in horse care, barn maintenance and pasture care. As a member of the larger farm team, will also participate in agency and farm special events.
Education/ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, animal/equine science or related field
Two years professional experience working with children
Two years professional or personal experience teaching equine unmounted lessons, preferably with special education students
Licensure/CertificationPATHCTRI, ESMHL, EAL certification or equivalent preferred
CPR certification or the ability to become certified.
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
Rate of PayRate of pay for this temporary role is $ per day DOE. As a temporary this role does not offer benefits, but offers an incredible environment for students and teachers alike.
ScheduleMonday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM with some flexibility as needed to work agency special events (will include at least 2 weekend days per year).
