Location
Immediate need in the Brewton, AL area. Relocation assistance is available.
CompensationBase salary estimated to be $130–$150K, relevant to experience, education and certifications. OT eligible role with total compensation likely exceeding $160–$170K+.
Responsibilities Electrical Design (35%)- Perform sketches and mark-up existing drawings as required to communicate design intent.
- Perform field work, inspecting plant conditions, verifying existing plant conditions, routing tray, conduit or cable layout for new equipment for most efficient use of space and resources.
- Preliminary design for installation of motors, instruments and controls.
- Perform engineering calculations as required.
- Coordinate with other disciplines as required to produce projects with the lowest total installed cost possible.
- Check design work for accuracy and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Design loop sheets, elementaries, system architecture, and other wiring diagrams.
- Basic breaker coordination.
- Detailed power panel schedules.
- Power plans.
- Grounding system design and grounding plans.
- Lighting system design and lighting plans.
- Electrical room layouts.
- Electrical equipment specifications.
- Industrial cable sizing, voltage drop calculations and general cable list development.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Lead scope development efforts by interfacing with clients as needed.
- Communicate scope needs to designers or other engineers.
- Obtain quotes for engineering, equipment, material, and services.
- Write client's scope document.
- Develop bid packages, lead bid meetings and evaluate bids.
- Write material requests and contract requisitions.
- Manage procurement and construction activities.
- Coordinate project safety, timing, and other issues.
- Lead checkout and startup activities.
- Control documents generated during the course of the project.
- Issue documents to client for permanent storage.
- Review project scopes for inclusion of reliability expectations as defined by client.
- When an opportunity occurs, work with the client to determine the scope.
- Engineering degree.
- Motor controls design experience.
- Proficiency with wiring diagrams and CAD.
- Experience with 480V and 2300V/4160V single lines, starter elementary circuits, and 480V VFDs.
- Basic breaker coordination.
- Detailed power panel schedules.

- Grounding system design and grounding plans.
- Lighting system design and lighting plans.
- Electrical room layouts.
- Electrical equipment specifications.

- Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation.

- PLC & DCS connection diagram development.
- Light I/O panel design experience.
