Legal Settlements Specialist - Accounting
A well-established mid-size law firm is seeking a Settlements Coordinator for the Accounting side of their Settlements team to play a critical role in managing and overseeing complex settlement-related financial operations. This position is ideal for a highly analytical, numbers-driven accounting professional with experience in large-scale litigation environments.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in complex, high-value financial analysis and has experience working across class actions, mass torts, or other large, multi-party disputes

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee settlement-related accounting activities, including high-volume, high-value fund flows
- Analyze and quantify economic damages and financial impacts across large datasets
- Oversee settlement allocations, fund distribution, and escrow/QSF (Qualified Settlement Fund) structures
- Perform and review financial analysis tied to claimant eligibility, validation, and allocation methodologies
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across complex, multi-claimant cases
- Support auditing, reconciliation, and financial controls related to settlement funds
- Partner with attorneys, finance teams, and external stakeholders on complex litigation matters
- Assist in managing workflows tied to multi-district or large-scale litigation settlements
- Identify opportunities to improve processes related to financial analysis and fund administration
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting, forensic accounting, or financial analysis experience
- Strong experience in complex litigation settlements (class actions, mass torts, securities, antitrust, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and complex financial models
- Experience with fund distribution, escrow accounts, and/or QSF structures
- Background in professional services environments (accounting firms, consulting firms, or litigation support) strongly preferred
- Forensic accounting or investigative financial analysis experience is a plus
