Position: Director, Greater China Macro Strategy (Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan)

Key Responsibilities

The role holder’s primary responsibility is to contribute to the Greater China FX and Interest rates strategy research team, to provide timely market analysis and updates, come up with FX and rates views and trade recommendations, regularly produce research reports, and presenting the bank’s house views. The goal is to work with internal stakeholders (Sales, Trading, Relationship Managers, Capital Markets, Transaction Banking, and other teams) to provide high quality services to the Bank’s clients globally.

  • Contribute to the Greater China Macro Strategy research team to help deliver world class content in Greater China macro strategy (FX, rates) research materials
  • Lead the coverage of Taiwan exchange rate and interest rate markets (TWD, NDF, IRS), and jointly cover China fixed income markets (cash bonds, IRS ,and other derivatives)
  • Provide timely analysis and updates to both internal stakeholders and external clients, conduct strategy research to provide trade ideas, conduct client meetings and present at external events to discuss SCB house views
  • Contribute to Greater China strategy reports, publish regular reports on Taiwan FX and rates, and contribute to other joint reports with broader EM Asia strategy teams
  • Maintain and update models related to Taiwan and mainland China market’s FX and interest rate markets, conduct market analysis, closely follow regulatory changes, and provide timely updates to both external clients and internal stakeholders
  • The candidate is required have experience in EM / Asia/ China FX and rates research or analysis, able to conduct independent market analysis and coverage, and familiar with exchange rate and interest rate instruments including FX and rates derivatives

  • Ensure adherence to the product governance both individually and within the global team
  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Be responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
