* * Position Overview**## SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job):
Collaborates with Director of Patient Access to develop, implement and monitor staff department education, and training of new projects. Acts as a liaison for Patient Access with finance billing department, Director, and Managers to resolve registration issues related to revenue cycle. Oversees areas of responsibility to meet department goals while maintaining budget integrity. Adheres to department and administrative procedures and guidelines to maintain compliance and ensure quality.
Communicates effectively and works collaboratively with other with other departments to improve shared work processes. Utilizes standards, guidelines, and written procedures for performing patient access functions.## MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* Education:
** High school diploma or equivalent.
*
* Experience:
** Four years Health Access or patient registration experience in a healthcare environment, to include Patient Access Quality Specialist and training experience preferred.
** Knowledge and Skills**:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Knowledge of government regulations. Previous experience with audits required.
** Special Training:
** Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
** Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities**:
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to change priorities when necessary to meet deadlines. Demonstrates good judgment as well as excellent attention to detail##
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Provides support to Operations Manager/Director in meeting requirements for special projects and tasks, as measured by reports and observation.
* Serves as liaison for Patient Access with billing department, in addition to directors and managers, to resolve registration issues related to revenue cycle.
* Analyzes and distributes work to quality specialist. Monitors and measures quality and productivity by reports to ensure that department goals and standards are met.
* Supports department performance improvement initiatives. Engages in activities and training to meet department's goals and standards.
* Communicates effectively with patient access team members and other departments and is open to feedback and suggestions in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Adheres to Capital Health's attendance policy as well as interdepartmental policies and procedures.
* Ensures responsibility for schedule, payroll, and maintenance of appropriate staffing levels while adhering to budget.
* Monitors and facilitates departmental specific staff training and education for new hires and incumbents, as measured by reports. Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees as well as plans. Assigns and directs workloads, addresses complaints, and resolves problems on a timely basis.
* Works in conjunction with director to set staff goals and monitor staff productivity.
* Performs all probationary and annual staff evaluations on or before due date, as measured by reports.
* Trains new and existing staff as required. Provides counseling and feedback for any performance issues.
* Assists with accurate data collection in support of quality performance improvement initiatives.
* Supports the culture of organization and participates in any meetings planned to meet these objectives.
* Provides staff coverage as a registrar, coordinator, team leader, as needed.
