Position Summary:
Center For Family Services is seeking experienced and professional Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse for the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center (CRSC). This is a24-hour psychiatric crisis center for adults experiencing a mental health crisis. The Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center provides a nurturing and supportive environment where our consumers can receive therapeutic interventions for up to 24 hours.
Responsibilities
- Serve consumers with both mental health and substance use disorder diagnosis, including co-occurring and MI/DD diagnoses.
- Evaluate, diagnose and provide treatment to Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Cetner consumers.
- Develop comprehensive holistic behavioral health assessments for consumers with behavioral health disorders; involve family members as indicated.
- Develop individual and family focused treatment plans which are goal directed; involve family members as indicated; crisis care plans will include management of physical and mental health problems; re-evaluate plans as needed and at intervals specified in Center procedures.
- Prescribe medication in accordance with his/her license and the Center's formulary; this does include prescribing controlled dangerous substances and MAT approved medications.
- Provide medication evaluation and management services including medication counseling and education, psychoeducation to assigned consumers and family caregivers.
- Order and evaluate diagnostic medical tests.
- Complete psychiatric evaluations and treatment progress notes in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Accurate and timely record keeping within Center's electronic health record system
- Adhere to Center policies and procedures regarding sample medication inventory.
- Assume responsibility for professional development, meeting licensure requirements, and
- maintaining credentials through continuing education activities.
- Maintain a current collaborative practice/consultation agreement with the Center psychiatrist, Medical Director, collaborating physician, or designee, regardless of independent practice eligibility or completed practice hours, and participate in regular case review and psychiatric/medical consultation in accordance with CRSC practice expectations.
- Communicate with other staff as necessary to promote quality consumer care.
- Exercise sound professional judgment and seek assistance as necessary to effectively manage consumer behavior.
- Participate in required staff trainings and staff meetings as scheduled.
- Participate in Center and Program performance improvement activities
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position and in accordance with program policies, training, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Note:
staff may only perform within their scope of practice.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from an accredited University
- ANCC certification in psychiatry
- Current New Jersey License for RN and APN in good standing
- Valid C.D.S. registration and D.E.A Certification
- 2 years post bachelors experience in a behavioral health setting providing mental health evaluations, medication management and education, and behavioral health counseling. Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and individuals with substance use disorder is required.
