our client a well-established and growing medical practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a professional and compassionate environment. Offering a stable workplace with opportunities for career development and advancement within the organization. This temp to hire position located in mercer county, nj (onsite). Monday throug friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm and occasional saturdays.

the front desk medical assistant plays a key role in supporting both patient care and administrative operations within the practice. This position serves as a primary point of contact for patients while ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate documentation, and excellent customer service.

key responsibilities

  • schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments in a timely and efficient manner
  • provide outstanding customer service to patients in person and over the phone
  • check patients in and out while verifying demographics and insurance information
  • answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally
  • maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (emr) system
  • coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling accuracy
  • handle patient inquiries regarding appointments, referrals, and general office procedures
  • assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and documentation
  • follow hipaa guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
  • support the front office team to ensure an organized and efficient practice environment

qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • prior experience in a medical office, scheduling, or patient services preferred
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • familiarity with emr systems and medical scheduling software is a plus
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills
