Monday throug friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm and occasional saturdays.
the front desk medical assistant plays a key role in supporting both patient care and administrative operations within the practice. This position serves as a primary point of contact for patients while ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate documentation, and excellent customer service.
key responsibilities
- schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments in a timely and efficient manner
- provide outstanding customer service to patients in person and over the phone
- check patients in and out while verifying demographics and insurance information
- answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally
- maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (emr) system
- coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling accuracy
- handle patient inquiries regarding appointments, referrals, and general office procedures
- assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and documentation
- follow hipaa guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
- support the front office team to ensure an organized and efficient practice environment
qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent required
- prior experience in a medical office, scheduling, or patient services preferred
- strong communication and customer service skills
- ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- familiarity with emr systems and medical scheduling software is a plus
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
