OpportunityThis role is a unique opportunity for a senior re/insurance risk professional to join Everest Group at a moment of strategic pivot. The role will contribute to shaping an enhanced globalized ERM framework that is effective, pragmatic and fit-for-purpose for Group Supervision by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA). The role is centrally positioned within Everest Group with high visibility to the Group's Executive Leadership Team, leading a small, global high-performing team and acting as Chief-of-Staff in close proximity to the Group CRO.
Responsibilities- Global ERM Framework:
Define, establish and maintain optimized group-wide Enterprise Risk Management Governance, capturing all risk factors and clear accountabilities across the 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defense. Enhance non-financial risk aspects of the Group Risk Appetite Framework and the Group ORSA/GSSA reporting. Manage executive-level risk committees and reporting to the Group Board of Directors Risk Management Committee. - Operational
Risk Management:
Establish and maintain the Group-wide framework for Operational Risk Management (risk culture, RCSA, incident management, risk heatmaps). Manage the Operational Risk Committee. Lead the global roll-out of the “Decision Focus” infrastructure for operational risk management and pursue ongoing technological improvements. Coordinate with 2nd line risk oversight teams (Legal & Compliance, IT, Internal Audit) and advise management and boards on forward-looking risk trends and emerging risks. - Group Supervision:
Represent Everest's ERM in day-to-day relations with the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA). Lead ERM in the IAIS Com Frame project. Collaborate with regulatory compliance to ensure readiness for regulatory interactions. Ensure consistency across Legal Entities and integrate risk considerations into strategic planning. - Legal Entity
Risk Management:
Develop and maintain risk management frameworks for Everest's Bermuda entities, ensuring governance and policy consistency with Group ERM under Group Supervision by the BMA. Lead annual risk and solvency assessments (ORSA/CISSA) and support regulatory inquiries. Lead internal risk reporting with entity management and Group ERM/Risk Committees.
- 15 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance, with substantial Risk Management experience
- Deep knowledge of international re/insurance regulatory demands, including Bermuda and BMA Group Supervision
- Strong grasp of corporate governance best practices related to Risk Management
- Experience attending Supervisory Colleges; having acted as Principal Representative to the BMA is a plus
- Technical understanding of standard solvency capital models and internal models
- Solid experience implementing operational risk framework best practices
- Proven ability to lead a team across locations with complex stakeholder management
- Ability to interact effectively with senior executive leadership and regulatory supervisors
- Structured, auditable execution skills with lean pragmatism
- Strong collaboration in a matrix organization with global coverage
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficiency with relevant software
- Advanced education in relevant fields; FIA, FCAS, CFA or FRM preferred
- Self-motivated, well organized, able to prioritize a broad range of activities
US Only: The base salary range for this position is $305,000 - $410,000 annually. Compensation is based on education, experience, qualifications and work location.
