Here at Henlius, we are seeking a strategic, hands-on US Communications Director to support our upcoming commercial launch in the US market and ongoing needs. Reporting to a dynamic senior leader at our China Headquarter, this role will lead US corporate and communications strategy while also serving as an individual contributor responsible for hands-on execution of key communications initiatives.
This is a highly visible, matrixed role that will work cross-functionally with numerous internal stakeholders (commercial, marketing, medical, regulatory, market access, investor relations, etc) to shape Henlius’ external narrative in the US. In the near term, a key priority for this position will be to support launch readiness and launch execution, including Day 1 communications, media engagement, stakeholder visibility, and related brand-building activities.
The role will also oversee external agencies and vendors supporting digital, media, and corporate communications activities.
- Develop and execute comprehensive corporate and launch communications strategies to build Henlius’ brand presence and reputation in the US healthcare and biotech ecosystem
- Develop and execute key launch materials, including press releases, messaging, Q&A, executive talking points, and other communication material
- Manage media relations and support speaking opportunities, conferences, and executive visibility and opportunities that support corporate and launch objectives.
- Support near-term commercial launch readiness and execution,
- Manage relationships with key healthcare, biotech, pharmaceutical, and business media.
- Support communications for the bevacizumab biosimilar launch and future pipeline products.
- Partner cross-functionally with commercial marketing, medical, regulatory, and market access teams to ensure aligned and compliant messaging.
- Develop external-facing content such as healthcare professionals, patients and stakeholders and monitor market, competitive, and industry developments.
- Manage external agencies and vendors supporting media, digital, website, and social media initiatives.
- Oversee website content updates and vendor-led social media execution.
- Review deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with company objectives.
- Build relationships with media, KOLs, patient advocacy groups, industry associations, and other key external stakeholders.
- Support investor relations, issues management, and corporate reputation initiatives as needed.
- Partner closely with China HQ and internal cross-functional teams to align messaging, approvals, and launch communications across markets and time zones.
- Manage crisis communication & reputation management
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience required.
- Experience in communications, public relations, or corporate affairs in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience supporting product launch and corporate communications initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the US healthcare and pharmaceutical environment, including biosimilars.
- Excellent writing, communication, and project management skills.
- Proven media relations experience and experience managing external vendors or agencies.
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional and global teams in a matrixed organization.
- Willingness to operate as an individual contributor with hands-on execution responsibility.
- Experience in biosimilar, oncology, or specialty pharmaceutical communications.
- Experience supporting US commercial launch communications.
- Experience working with global teams and/or reporting into an international headquarters structure, including China HQ.
- Crisis communications or issues management experience.
- Combination of agency and in-house communications experience.
- Familiarity with FDA and other relevant pharmaceutical communications regulations.
