The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patients' needs. Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plans of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments. Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
Performs therapeutic nursing interventions. Manages care of patients. Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities. Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. Provides patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Job requires on-call duty for 4 weekdays and one weekend from Friday to Sunday.
There is a weekend requirement of being on call for one weekend per month. Holiday coverage is required for one summer and one winter shift. Critical care experience is highly preferred. Prior experience with EPIC and Sensis is highly preferred. Circulation during pacer insertion experience and pulmonary embolism case experience is required.
Education:
ASN is required. BSN is preferred. Required certifications include NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license, BLS, ACLS, and telemetry.
