Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing, administering, and overseeing safety programs that minimize occupational hazards and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations within telecom and low voltage construction environments. This role conducts site inspections, investigates incidents, facilitates safety training, monitors regulatory compliance, and partners with field operations to promote a strong safety culture. The Safety Coordinator proactively identifies workplace risks, develops corrective actions, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Job Responsibilities- Identify workplace conditions that could result in accidents, injuries, or financial loss.
- Evaluate potential risks and determine the severity of injuries or losses associated with workplace hazards.
- Develop and implement accident prevention and loss control programs to support organizational safety objectives.
- Coordinate safety initiatives to ensure consistent implementation of safety programs across assigned operations.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret safety metrics, including injury, illness, accident, and exposure data, and prepare reports for leadership.
- Recommend process improvements and safety controls that reduce employee exposure to workplace hazards.
- Conduct routine inspections of jobsites, facilities, tools, and equipment to identify hazards and verify regulatory compliance.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Review project plans and specifications to ensure applicable safety requirements are met.
- Document and communicate findings from accident investigations and site inspections.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions taken to address safety and health violations.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable safety regulations, policies, and industry best practices.
- Conduct and facilitate safety training for supervisors, field personnel, and other employees.
- Administer safety training programs and ensure compliance with training requirements.
- Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks with supervisors and field personnel to discuss safety standards, lessons learned, hazards, and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor employees on safe work practices and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety management role within construction, telecom, or a related industry.
- OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 certification required.
- Experience working in construction environments with a strong understanding of field safety practices.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification preferred.
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to investigate incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to effectively deliver safety training and communicate with employees at all organizational levels.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout active jobsites for extended periods during the workday.

- Schedule:
Monday through Friday with a 6:00 AM start time. - Weekend work and overtime are required based on business needs.
- No travel is required for this position.
