Lift Truck Operator - B Shift

LIFT TRUCK OPERATOR I - B SHIFT

Operate gasoline or electric-powered industrial trucks or tractors equipped with forklift and/or elevated platform to move materials. Duties are performed under general supervision following standard work procedures and guidelines.

• Operates a forklift or squeeze truck.
• Operates drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
• Operates lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams, swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
• Moves pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
• Dumps, sprays, or releases materials into hoppers.
• Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
• Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, or lifting devices.
• Operates or tends automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines.
• Weighs materials or products and records weight and other production data as required.
• Records quality and output measures and completes necessary paperwork.
• Performs a pre-shift daily inspection on the lift truck.
• Attends any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follows all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies.
• Performs general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Performs other tasks assigned by management.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Lift Truck Certification preferred.
• Successful completion of all required on-the-job training.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
• Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred.

• Operates in a team-based environment.
• Basic math skills.

• May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Working around moving equipment in an industrial environment.
• Exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures.
