Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results‑driven and forward‑thinking Security Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install, program, system start‑up / check‑out, certify, and customer train on assigned projects that vary in complexity. As a Security Technician, you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.
Responsibilities- Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of non‑routine systems and equipment, which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
- Act as the key interface for the provision of technical support and training for the customer, accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction.
- Read basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures; interpret manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams and repair equipment using knowledge of electronics and standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions; write non‑routine programs for systems.
- Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance and warranty work.
- Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and standards as well as suggestions for product improvements.
- Execute the technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets, including programming, graphics development, start‑up, certification testing, customer training, close‑out documentation, and ongoing technical support.
- Identify potential project risks, communicate to appropriate parties and assist in developing strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and deadlines.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager and assist in the overall coordination of specific projects; recommend quality of work and potential changes in scope; identify ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- Mentor less experienced staff; may supervise workers in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to achieve optimum operating performance.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure, maintaining awareness of and meeting customer needs without prompting.
- Solid technical skills and experience with fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
- Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and find solutions.
- Self‑starter who works well with minimal supervision.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to work with hand and power tools (drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) and read blueprints and drawings; solid math skills (area, velocity, resistance, voltage, etc.).
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Advanced computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and proficiency in other relevant applications.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to job sites on a regular basis; minimal overnight travel may be required.

High School/GED or equivalent experience - Minimum Experience:
