Position Summary

The Supervisor is responsible for supervising labor management and planning of inbound and outbound operations, product slotting, and customer communication. Duties include labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower coordination, hiring and training, performance appraisals, and issue resolution. The Supervisor works under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager to oversee receiving, warehousing, and shipping of products in accordance with company service and cost objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly activities and plan for continuous improvement.
  • Inform senior management and client representatives of critical operational issues.
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures for safe and profitable operations, meeting productivity and service goals.
  • Manage cost‑saving initiatives and report on progress.
  • Provide performance feedback, coaching, and discipline; support HR activities and professional development.
  • Oversee training and evaluation of warehouse staff.
  • Plan daily schedules based on work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions.
  • Analyze pending jobs and warehouse space, adjusting staffing and supplies as needed.
  • Delegate training responsibilities and assess trainee progress.
  • Provide guidance and advice on quality and quantity of work throughout the day.
  • Assign supervisory duties and monitor team progress.
  • Maintain communication with the Manager on progress or problems.
  • Participate in physical operations as required.
  • Support adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train team members accordingly.
Skills & Abilities
  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or a related environment.
    • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
    • Preferred: MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation.
  • Certificates: Completion of a forklift training program.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); RF scanners; WMS functions.
  • Language

    Skills:

    English (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Business Communication: Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Basic to intermediate level for inventory verification and quantity calculations.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range: $65,000 – $75,000 per year, plus a performance‑based bonus program. Benefits include medical, prescription, dental, vision, and life insurance; flexible spending accounts; short‑ and long‑term disability; wellness resources; a 401(k) plan with company match up to 5%; paid time off, holidays, and floating holidays.
