About the Role
Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk for a short-term assignment with a respected company in the death care industry located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to support daily financial operations in a compassionate and service-focused environment.
The Accounting Clerk will assist with a variety of accounting and administrative functions, helping ensure accurate financial records and timely processing of transactions.
Responsibilities
+ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
+ Enter invoices, payments, and journal entries into the accounting system
+ Reconcile bank statements and account balances
+ Assist with month-end closing activities
+ Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
+ Research and resolve discrepancies with vendors and customers
+ Prepare reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
+ Support the accounting team with special projects as needed
Requirements
Qualifications
+ High school diploma required;
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
+ 1+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable/accounts receivable experience
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
+ Strong data entry and organizational skills
+ High attention to detail and accuracy
+ Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience
+ Experience working in service-based industries
+ Familiarity with general accounting principles
+
Experience with reconciliations and financial reporting support
