St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent's is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford Health Care network, and is the system's second-largest hospital.

Job Summary

• Performs a variety of administrative duties to support the assigned department(s).

Responsibilities

• Composes, types and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications as required.

• Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls, and handles general inquiries.

• Schedules/coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, appointments and travel arrangements. Maintains assigned calendar(s).

• Establishes and maintains filing systems. Orders and stocks supplies.

• Performs required tasks to support staff and workflow across department.

• Interface with other departments to ensure work orders, service tickets and purchasing tasks are completed.

• May assist with timekeeping and other systems/records utilized by the department, including patient scheduling where appropriate.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional certifications or higher education preferred.
  • 1 year prior admin/office coordinator experience required.
  • Medical office experience preferred.
