Construction Engineer (Construction)

We are looking for a Construction Engineer. This candidate responsibilities will include:

• Provide construction and mechanical maintenance support in Bridgeport CT
• Assist in oversight for construction/renovation projects from beginning to end
• Manage the budget and estimate costs
• Provide vendor selection and determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed
• Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes, along with local team
• Resolve any problems that may arise
• Evaluate risks
• Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team
• Provide CMMS operations for maintenance and operations
• Lead work order and CMMS schedules -
• Negotiate with external vendors on contract agreements
• Ensure appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites are obtained
• Plan construction and maintenance operations with local staff
• Ensure all deadlines are met
• Assist in contractor selection and management
• Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards
• Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly

• 10 yrs experience in Construction or Maintenance and Project delivery/management
• CT Licensed PE, Civil or Mechanical preferred
• Familiar with Microsoft software, scheduling software, ( MS Project, Primivera ect)
• Familiar with CMMS software and deliver
• Experience in contract writing and delivery, ability to develop subcontract agreements and manage
• Familiar with governmental regulations, ability to deal with local, state and federal representatives
• Experience in procurement processes, financial reporting
• Experience in client presentations, working with client staff, both municipal and private.
