Summary
Little Rainbow Daycare Center is now accepting applications for qualified Early Childhood Head Teachers to support our evening and overnight childcare program. We are seeking dependable, professional, and nurturing educators who are passionate about supporting young children during critical stages of development.
We currently have openings for the following shifts:
- Shift A: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Shift B: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
The Overnight Head Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environment and providing high-quality care aligned with Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) regulations. The ideal candidate will be warm, patient, and committed to helping children learn, grow, and thrive.
Duties- Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Positively impact the life of every child through nurturing, encouragement, and guidance.
- Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with children and families.
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities suitable for evening and overnight programming.
- Use observation and assessment tools to document developmental progress.
- Interpret assessment data to adjust classroom activities and support individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure children meet developmental milestones.
- Follow Little Rainbow Daycare and OEC health, safety, and compliance standards at all times.
Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Required)
CT OEC-approved Head Teacher Certificate (Required)
Must be active in the CT OEC Registry
CPR & First Aid Certification (Required)
Previous childcare or teaching experience preferred
Ability to work assigned shift consistently
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Nice To HavesAssociate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
CT OEC Head Teacher Certificate (active and verified in the CT OEC Registry)
CPR & First Aid Certification
Ability to work either 3 PM–11 PM or 11 PM–7 AM shift consistently
Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting
Ability to maintain a safe, nurturing environment at all times
Ability to complete documentation and assessments as required
Ability to follow all state and program policies, procedures, and health/safety standards
