Summary

NBFA's Elementary School Principal must hold a valid 092 administrator's certificate. He or she must be an advocate for NBFA's mission to provide students a meaningful, high‑quality education through experience‑based learning that helps develop essential social, emotional and critical‑thinking skills. This gives all children a foundation to achieve their full potential at every stage of life.

NBFA's elementary principal will be responsible for fostering, nurturing and modeling NBFA as a public charter school district with a shared vision, goals and expectations for teaching and learning. Responsibilities focus primarily on developing and monitoring staff and student performance to realize the school's unique mission within the framework of district goals, the school improvement and strategic plan, and policies. NBFA's School Principal is responsible for all activities within the school [Pre‑K‑6th grade] and for alignment with the district's direction.

NBFA's Elementary School Principal is expected to work closely and supportively with the faculty, but retain responsibility for (1) the educational performance and learning of the children and for their general well‑being while in school, for (2) the competence of the school's teaching staff, and for (3) the relationships and reputation of the school internally and in the community. NBFA's School Principal is expected to establish and maintain productive working relationships with NBFA parents as well as district staff, including the Director, Chief Academic Officers, other administrators, and the Board of Directors.

  • Establishes and communicates clear expectations for student learning, staff performance, and school‑wide excellence, reinforcing a culture of high standards and achievement.
  • Models personal accountability and professionalism, setting the tone for excellence in student growth, staff performance, and results‑driven leadership.
