Position: A107 Starting Salary: $26,510.00*
Current members of AFSCME LOCAL 1522 will be given first opportunity to fill the position.
Requirements:- Associate's degree, the equivalent number of college credits or have successfully passed the paraprofessional assessment exam
- A minimum of 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education to work in a Pre-K classroom
- Demonstrates aptitude for work to be performed
- Bilingual/Bicultural (as appropriate)
- Demonstrates ability to relate well with staff and the public
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Requires basic computer skills
- Ability to provide excellent attendance and punctuality on a daily basis
- Serves under the direct supervision of the teacher or curriculum specialist in supplementing instruction
- Assists in the assessment of students
- Assists in the registration, clerical and other routine duties that improve the classroom/school organization, management and atmosphere
- Attends in-service workshops and staff meetings where job related, as per contract
- Responsible for lunchroom duty
- Performs other related duties as assigned
