Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture, clinical, and/or laboratory format based on the approved course outline using a variety of approved course materials and teaching methods that address all learning modalities.
- Assess student learning using appropriate methods and demonstrate effectiveness with strong outcomes in Student Retention, Student Success, and Student Attendance.
- Conduct engaging classroom lectures and/or lab sessions based on the course outline.
- Motivate students by demonstrating sensitivity for concerns and actively involving them in classroom discussions and activities.
- Advise students on attendance, grades, and issues to ensure successful completion of their course.
- Contact absentee students by text, email, and/or phone to improve retention.
- Manage classroom environment through compliance with campus policies including classroom management, attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Ensure instructor preparedness before class by displaying information on the whiteboard (Instructor Name and Contact Information, Date, Class Name, Day’s Objectives, and Next Session Objectives).
- Monitor and prepare supplies and equipment, informing campus personnel of any needed attention.
- Participate in faculty, staff, committee, and in‑service meetings and attend commencement as strongly encouraged.
- Demonstrate professional growth in the subject area through participation in educational associations, ongoing education, related business experience, educational research, and awareness of current practices and standards.
- Support other departments such as Financial Aid, Admissions, and Career Services.
- Ensure all educational activities are conducted legally and ethically and demonstrate continuous improvement under the Faculty Development Program guidelines.
- Maintain employer relationships through at least annual contacts with employers (site visits or phone conversations).
- At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience.
- Teaching certification preferred.
- Credentialed EKG Technician with minimum 3 years in the field as an EKG Technician.
- Knowledge and understanding of curriculum and skills required to train others.
- Ability to train adults in curriculum and skills leading to credential through the National Health Career Association exam.
- Excellent written, speaking and listening skills.
- Experience training and/or teaching adults or adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and excellent record keeping skills.
- Certifications:
Certificate (Required), Bachelor’s degree (Preferred), or 5+ years working in this capacity.
The job requires seeing, talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting for extended periods, and adequate hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate phone, computer, and other office equipment.
