The State of Connecticut Technical High Education and Career System (CTECS) is hiring for an anticipated Science Instructor (THS Instructor - Professional) position to join our academic education team at Bullard Havens Technical High School, located in Bridgeport, CT.

Position Highlights- SCHEDULE:
first shift, full time (35 hours per week) Monday through Friday. - LOCATION:
Bullard Havens Technical High School (Bridgeport, CT) - SALARY:
* VS02, derived from the State Vocational Federation of Teachers - ACADEMIC CALENDAR: CTECS follows a ten-month academic calendar (188 days per year).
- Applicants with an Initial Certification will be on the VS01 pay scale from the contract with State Vocational Federation of Teachers. Applicants with a Professional Certification will be on the VS02 pay scale.
- Option to maintain State of Connecticut Teacher Retirement Plan or enroll in the State Employee Retirement System.

CTECS operates 17 diploma-granting technical high schools, one technical education center and two airframe mechanics and aircraft maintenance programs. In this role, you will create engaging and rigorous learning experiences that support students with diverse learning needs while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and a strong foundation in high school science. The ideal candidate will bring strong content knowledge, effective instructional practices, and a passion for helping students succeed in both individual and collaborative learning environments.
As a Science Instructor, you will design and implement purposeful lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and instructional goals, utilizing differentiated strategies and varied assessment methods to support all learners. You will cultivate a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, intellectual engagement, and active participation while effectively managing classroom procedures and student behavior. Collaboration is an essential component of this position, as you will work closely with guidance staff, special education personnel, and support service educators to ensure accommodations and individualized supports are successfully implemented.
In addition to classroom instruction, this role requires a commitment to professional growth, reflective teaching practices, and ongoing communication with students and families. The successful candidate will actively participate in professional learning communities, uphold the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality, and support the mission, policies, and values of the district while helping to maintain a safe, ethical, and student-centered school environment.
