Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences

The University of Bridgeport is seeking candidates for the position of full-time faculty position in the School of Chiropractic toteach courses in the clinical sciences –Principles and Practice, Evidenced Based Practice, Business Procedures as well as Intermediate and Advanced Spinal and Extremity Technique courses.

Some of these courses would include both lectures and labs, etc. In addition, based upon the needs of the program the faculty membermay also possibly assist in other labs like Physical Exam (PE).Full-time faculty members at the University of Bridgeport are responsible for maintaining the highest academic standards in theirdiscipline. Faculty advise students; develop and maintain curriculum; stay current in their disciplines; participate inon-and-off-campus staff development activities;

fulfilladministrative responsibilities relevant to their positions; and participate in university and community service. This position islocated in Bridgeport, CT.

This is a full-time non-tenure track 12 month contracted position.

At a minimum, the essential functions of the instructor areto:

• Use the approved course syllabus format when creating coursesyllabi.
• Teach all classes according to an approved coursesyllabus.
• Ensure that each course contains essential curricularcomponents, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintainscurrency.
• Ensure that assigned classes are held as scheduled and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Assess student academic achievement and demonstratemodification of teaching techniques in accordance with assessmentfeedback and universal design of courses.
• Submit reports in an accurate and timely manner including attendance, grades, and other related documentation.
• Attend department meetings and participate in the development,implementation, and evaluation of program goals and curriculumreview based on student learning outcomes.
• Initiate discussions and make recommendations concerning the improvement of teaching, curriculum, and processes related to improving student outcomes.
• Attend professional development activities to remain informed of current trends and new approaches to instruction.
• Serve on and provide information to college committees asneeded and requested.

• Demonstrate professional attitude, philosophy, compassion, and commitment that promotes student growth and learning.
• Commitment to the University mission, vision and values.
• Perform all other duties as assigned, directed or as situation dictates.
• Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed .

• Maintain licenses, certifications and other professional credentials for profession/position.

• Doctorate (DC degree).
• A minimum of three years of experience working in the appropriate industry or a related field.
• Knowledge of current trends and practices in the appropriatefield.
• Demonstrated skills teaching in traditional Universityclassroom and on-line environments.
• Ability to analyze, synthesize and interpret student learningoutcome data to improve teaching and learning.
• Demonstrated ability in word programs and Internet applications.
• Demonstrated ability to research material both on-line and in traditional library settings.
