Position: Facilities & Tooling Manager (Onsite)

Facilities & Tooling Manager

This role is responsible for leading all facility maintenance, tooling, metrology, and infrastructure activities within Pratt & Whitney Environmental Services (PWES). The successful candidate manages mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, tooling, and facilities functions while leading a medium‑sized team of skilled trades professionals, technicians, and engineers. The role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant equipment, facilities systems, tooling assets, and maintenance programs that support production and operational objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all facility and tooling operations for the engine center, including maintenance shops, tooling cribs, metrology labs, and plant infrastructure.
  • Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Direct response and recovery activities for equipment breakdowns, infrastructure failures, and production‑critical maintenance events.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair activities for facility systems, including building infrastructure, roofing, HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, and custodial services.
  • Manage tooling and gauge crib operations, including calibration, inspection, maintenance, certification, and inventory control of tooling and measurement equipment.
  • Oversee metrology functions to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely certification of precision measurement systems and tooling assets.
  • Lead maintenance and calibration activities for specialized equipment such as balancing machines, component measurement systems, and automated inspection equipment.
  • Develop and manage site Cap Ex budgets related to facilities, infrastructure, tooling, and equipment investments.
  • Lead capital projects from concept through execution, including equipment installation, facility upgrades, vendor management, contractor oversight, scheduling, and commissioning.
  • Select and manage third‑party engineering firms, contractors, OEMs, and equipment suppliers to ensure project delivery, quality, and cost objectives are achieved.
  • Lead and support critical EH&S programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Hoist & Rigging Inspection Programs, and Electrical Safety Programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications – Must Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline and a minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial maintenance, facilities management, tooling, or manufacturing engineering leadership roles; OR an advanced degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Experience with in a highly regulated industry such as Aerospace, Aviation MRO, Automotive, Pharmaceutical, or Heavy Manufacturing.
  • Previous experience working with industrial equipment and electrical systems up to 600V, OSHA 510 certification.
  • Training or experience related to NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
  • Experience managing Cap Ex budgets and multi‑million‑dollar facility or equipment projects.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems, industrial automation, or equipment monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of calibration systems, metrology practices, and tooling lifecycle management.
