At H2M, we’re expanding our forensic engineering team and seeking a Senior Engineer to lead investigations, deliver expert analysis, and support clients across the insurance and legal industries. This role offers the opportunity to shape a growing department while working on high-impact cases. Help uncover the story behind structural failures and building system issues.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct forensic investigations of residential and commercial properties to determine cause, origin, and extent of damage
- Analyze failures related to structural systems, water intrusion, roofing, construction defects, and building systems
- Investigate damage from catastrophes including storms, hurricanes, and floods
- Prepare detailed forensic engineering reports for insurance companies, attorneys, and property owners
- Manage multiple projects and ensure timely execution
- Communicate regularly with clients and internal teams to provide updates and maintain relationships
- Contribute to business development and client presentations
- Perform field inspections, including roofs, crawlspaces, and walking surfaces
- Support development of department standards and QA/QC procedures
- May include accident reconstruction and product defect analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture.
- 8+ years of architectural or engineering experience, including at least 1 year in forensic engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) License.
- Experience working with law firms and insurance companies.
- Strong analytical, field inspection, and technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication and client service abilities.
- Project management and supervisory experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with building codes, structures, and defect analysis.
- Experience with accident reconstruction or automotive failure analysis is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
AutoCAD/Revit familiarity is a plus.
- Annual Salary is between $120,000- $160,000.
