We are partnered with a nationally recognized ENR Top 50 heavy civil contractor who is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support high-profile CDOT / Amtrak infrastructure projects throughout the New Haven area.

About the Opportunity:This role will support major rail and transit work from preconstruction through closeout, assisting with project coordination, documentation, scheduling, budgets, subcontractor management, client communication, and field operations on complex public infrastructure projects.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with heavy civil, transportation, rail, bridge, or public infrastructure experience who is looking to grow into a Project Manager role with a stable, long-term organization.

- Support project teams from preconstruction through execution and closeout
- Assist with budgets, forecasting, scheduling, submittals, RFIs, and cost controls
- Coordinate with owners, agencies, subcontractors, vendors, and internal operations teams
- Track project documentation, change orders, procurement, and project controls
- Support safety, quality, and schedule performance in active infrastructure environments
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to drive successful project delivery
- Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Field Engineer experience in heavy civil, transportation, rail, transit, bridge, or infrastructure construction
- CDOT, Amtrak, commuter rail, or major public infrastructure experience preferred
- Strong understanding of project documentation, scheduling, cost tracking, and field coordination
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment on complex public infrastructure projects
