Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer, P.E., to join our growing team in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This is an opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional to lead complex investigations and design efforts, mentor staff, and play a key role in shaping geotechnical solutions across a wide range of projects, including energy, infrastructure, and site development. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects while continuing to grow your technical expertise and leadership influence.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Support proposal development, project scoping, and client relationship management.
- Oversee field drilling and sampling operations, ensuring quality and safety in data collection.
- Prepare and review boring logs, laboratory testing programs, and geotechnical data analysis.
- Lead and contribute to the design of geotechnical elements including foundations, slopes, and retaining structures.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
- Provide geotechnical input across a variety of projects, including building foundations, landslide remediation, and infrastructure improvements.
- Oversee construction materials testing services, including earthwork, concrete, foundations, masonry, and pavements.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, geologists, and field staff.
- Lead and manage geotechnical subsurface investigations, including planning, coordination, and execution.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in West Virginia or ability to gain reciprocity.
- 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably within a consulting environment.
- Experience managing geotechnical investigations and leading technical project work.
- Strong experience with geotechnical analysis, report preparation, and foundation design.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with clients and project teams.
