Haunted Character & Room Attendant

Boneheads Hilarious Haunted House is a live Halloween attraction in Bridgeport, CT that combines the fun and scares of a haunted house with comedy, interactive characters, and immersive guest experiences.

We are looking for energetic, dependable, and outgoing individuals to join our team as Haunted House Character & Room Attendants for the 2026 Halloween season.

This is a hybrid role that combines character performance, guest interaction, crowd guidance, and basic attraction operations
. You do not need to be a professional actor, but you should enjoy interacting with people, be comfortable performing in character, and be able to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

• Dress in costume and portray an assigned haunted house character.
• Greet and interact with guests while remaining in character.
• Welcome groups into your assigned room and help guide them through the attraction.
• Manage the flow of guests to help keep groups moving safely and on schedule.
• Deliver basic scripted and/or improvised character interactions.
• Operate simple lighting, sound, or other room effects as instructed.
• Reset simple props, effects, or room elements between guest groups when necessary.
• Keep your assigned room organized, clean, and ready for incoming guests.
• Communicate with other staff members to help maintain the timing and flow of the attraction.
• Follow all guest safety procedures and immediately report safety concerns or incidents to management.
• Assist guests in a friendly and professional manner while maintaining the atmosphere of the attraction.
• Participate in required rehearsals and training before opening.

• Friendly, energetic, and comfortable interacting with large numbers of people.
• Comfortable wearing a costume and performing as a character for extended periods.
• Able to memorize basic instructions, character information, and room procedures.
• Comfortable improvising and responding to guests while staying in character.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Able to follow safety procedures and directions from management.
• Comfortable operating simple sound and lighting controls after training.
• Able to stay organized while handling multiple responsibilities.
• Comfortable working in a dark, theatrical haunted-house environment with flashing lights, sound effects, atmospheric effects, and loud noises.

Previous acting, improv, theme park, haunted attraction, hospitality, customer service, event, or entertainment experience is a plus, but not required
.

This is a seasonal position for September and October 2026
.

Employees must be available for required September rehearsals/training and scheduled October performances:
Thursday, Oct 1st from 6pm-midnight & Every Friday and Saturday in October, 6pm-midnight.

Because each employee plays an important role in the operation of the attraction,
reliable attendance is essential
.

$17 per hour

This is a seasonal W-2 employee position
.
