Overview
Processes and supports Letter of Credit transactions in adherence to ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) guidelines to minimize risk to the Bank.
Primary ResponsibilitiesProcess amendments of Commercial and/or Performance/Financial Standby Letters of Credit for customers in a timely and accurate manner. Provide cross-training assistance for less experienced staff; provide management feedback on progress of cross-training efforts. Participate as a member of letter of credit project teams as required. Identify fraudulently presented items through use of International Trade Finance (ITF) policies, procedures and controls. Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 3 years’ work experience.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience PreferredInternational Trade Operations experience.
Commercial lending experience.
Knowledge of pertinent Bank systems.
