Overview
Processes and supports Letter of Credit transactions in adherence to ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) guidelines to minimize risk to the Bank.
Primary Responsibilities- Process amendments of Commercial and/or Performance/Financial Standby Letters of Credit for customers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide cross-training assistance for less experienced staff; provide management feedback on progress of cross-training efforts.
- Participate as a member of letter of credit project teams as required.
- Identify fraudulently presented items through use of International Trade Finance (ITF) policies, procedures and controls.
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 3 years' work experience
Strong customer service skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience PreferredInternational Trade Operations experience
Commercial lending experience
Knowledge of pertinent Bank systems
