Master Stylist

The Master Stylist is responsible for engaging with guests, consulting on their hair care needs, recommending products and services, and delivering quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look. The position supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager with performance, people and process expectations.

• Perform hair services (hair design, haircuts, color, texture, hair treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing where applicable).
• Meet or exceed a weekly average sales goal of $1,250 and productivity goals. Contribute to store goals of retail and service sales, guest loyalty and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty.
• Perform product demonstrations, support in‑store events and marketing initiatives, and stay informed on industry trends.
• Develop and maintain guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail/service recommendations.
• Deliver excellent guest service and use the Ulta Beauty app or loyalty program to increase engagement.
• Follow safety, sanitation, infection control and state board guidelines. Follow service protocols, maintain store cleanliness, adhere to dress code, and protect company assets.
• Communicate supply needs, handle booking, and perform other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.
• Previous relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with salon techniques across haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals, ability to sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as a team, and ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Continuous mobility, lifting up to 10 lbs, bending, reaching, twisting, and standing for long periods during shifts.

The pay range for this position is the higher of $16.94 - $20.20 per hour or services pay for the workweek under the company’s Services Compensation Plan. Overtime pay may apply. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits; part‑time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life and disability benefits.
