Under the direction of the EVS Supervisor, performs daily cleaning of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, corridors, stairwells, elevators, and any other assigned area. Clean in accordance with the standard cleaning and infection control procedures of Sodexho Marriott Services and Bridgeport Hospital.

Responsibilities- 1. CLEANING TECHNIQUES:
High and low dusting, dusts horizontal and vertical surfaces, empties trash receptacles, damp wipes/disinfects furniture and surfaces, cleans and polishes bathroom fixtures, dry mops or vacuums floors, wet mops/disinfects floors, burnishes/finishes floors, cleans wall surfaces and windows, polishes metallic surfaces, replenishes room supplies, performs check out or room discharge cleaning, shampoos carpets, collects bulk trash, inspects own work for quality. - 2. MAINTENANCE & CLEANLINESS:
Performs all EVS related tasks with urgency and customer service orientation, completes cleaning assignments within time parameters, measures and dilutes cleaning chemicals appropriately, maintains assigned equipment and work stations, assists in cleaning of emergency spills, reports general need for repairs. - 3. SAFETY:
Assures safety of patients, staff, visitors, adheres to safety requirements when performing jobs, uses protective devices and clothing, reports accidents and incidents, keeps floor free from spills, demonstrates safe lifting practices, demonstrates fire evacuation plan, adheres to lock out/tag out procedures. - 4. ADDITIONAL TASKS:
Performs any additional assignments as required by supervisor, attends scheduled meetings and in-services.
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Skills:
Ability to understand and speak English at a level that allows for safe efficient performance of assigned duties; pass all pre‑employment screenings; demonstrate ability to use supplies, tools and equipment properly; ability to lift 50 pounds; successful completion of department orientation.
Physical Demand: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk, frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Noise level is usually moderate. Incumbents or applicants who become disabled must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
