Job Purpose

To provide administrative and technical support to attorneys and the team at all stages of litigation, including investigation, filings, records requests, discovery, and deposition and trial prep.

Job Description
  • Correspondence: Manages incoming calls, emails, and mail, including expenses and invoices.
  • Calendar: Records relevant dates; anticipates and calculates deadlines; schedules case events, including depositions; plans basic travel for attorneys, clients, and witnesses.
  • Court Filings: Drafts routine motions and forms; gathers evidence and prepares exhibits; verifies citations and proofreads; finalizes and files documents.
  • Depositions and Trial: Drafts subpoenas; coordinates with all necessary personnel; prepares exhibits; oversees necessary equipment and technology.
  • Discovery and File Management: Utilizes cloud‑based and physical filing systems effectively; requests records; documents and maintains all evidence.
  • Research: Conducts research on the internet, social media, virtual databases, local/state/federal rules of procedure, the Connecticut Practice Book, etc.
  • Medical Records: Coordinates with the paralegal to request medical records on existing open files.
  • Teamwork: Follows up on delegated tasks and assignments; refers matters to an attorney or paralegal as necessary; supports and collaborates with colleagues in the firm as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of relevant law firm experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams);
    Adobe Acrobat;
    Zoom
  • Strong technical, organizational, research, and communication skills
  • Experience with and/or willingness to learn and use case management software (Filevine) and legal research tools (Westlaw, etc.)
