Job PurposeTo provide administrative and technical support to attorneys and the team at all stages of litigation, including investigation, filings, records requests, discovery, and deposition and trial prep.
Job Description- Correspondence: Manages incoming calls, emails, and mail, including expenses and invoices.
- Calendar: Records relevant dates; anticipates and calculates deadlines; schedules case events, including depositions; plans basic travel for attorneys, clients, and witnesses.
- Court Filings: Drafts routine motions and forms; gathers evidence and prepares exhibits; verifies citations and proofreads; finalizes and files documents.
- Depositions and Trial: Drafts subpoenas; coordinates with all necessary personnel; prepares exhibits; oversees necessary equipment and technology.
- Discovery and File Management: Utilizes cloud‑based and physical filing systems effectively; requests records; documents and maintains all evidence.
- Research: Conducts research on the internet, social media, virtual databases, local/state/federal rules of procedure, the Connecticut Practice Book, etc.
- Medical Records: Coordinates with the paralegal to request medical records on existing open files.
- Teamwork: Follows up on delegated tasks and assignments; refers matters to an attorney or paralegal as necessary; supports and collaborates with colleagues in the firm as needed.
- 2–5 years of relevant law firm experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams);
Adobe Acrobat;
Zoom - Strong technical, organizational, research, and communication skills
- Experience with and/or willingness to learn and use case management software (Filevine) and legal research tools (Westlaw, etc.)
