Trueline’s client, a well-established construction and transportation firm with a family business culture, is seeking an Enterprise Safety Manager to join the team in Connecticut. This role leads the development and administration of safety and compliance programs across construction sites and fleet operations while fostering a proactive safety culture.
What You’ll Do as the Enterprise Safety Manager:- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, plans, and procedures that meet OSHA, FMCSA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular site and vehicle safety inspections and risk assessments and drive corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
- Plan and deliver safety training and orientations for field teams and drivers.
- Maintain safety documentation, OSHA logs, training records, and reports for management and regulators.
- Monitor compliance with safety programs and enforce safety standards across crews and subcontractors.
- Oversee driver safety programs including training, qualification files, hours of service compliance, and performance coaching.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure vehicles meet safety and mechanical standards.
- Analyze safety metrics and trends (including CSA scores) and prepare actionable insights.
- Act as primary safety liaison with leadership, field personnel, subcontractors, and regulatory officials.
- 2+ years of experience in construction safety and/or fleet safety.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1910 and 1926) and FMCSA safety regulations.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to train and influence diverse teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and observation skills.
- Proven ability to manage incident investigations and risk mitigation activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field.
- OSHA 10/30-Hour Construction Certification.
- Professional safety credentials such as CSP or CHST.
