What You Will DoWe offer an exciting opportunity to join our team in Bridgeport, WV as a CMM Operator supporting the engine center quality inspection process.
This position will train on 1st shift and ultimately support 2nd shift (3:30PM – 1:30AM Monday‑Thursday). The facility is FAA regulated and the role is safety sensitive per FAA guidelines, including drug and alcohol testing and ongoing random testing as required.
Key Responsibilities- Perform dimensional inspection duties relating to overhaul and repair of engines or components.
- Use Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to conduct dimensional checks.
- Employ precision measurement gauges such as height gauges, micrometers, calipers and optical comparators.
- Follow general instructions and specifications from drawings, service bulletins, repair requests, overhaul manuals and other technical publications.
- Interpret complex blueprint drawings and collaborate with engineering on measuring complicated component configurations.
- Read, understand measurement tolerances and use Geometric Dimensional Tolerance (PWA
360) for critical fits and clearances. - Provide component dimensions, perform visual and dimensional inspection to determine serviceability and conformity with overhaul/repair manual specifications.
- Comply with company work rules, safe work practices and environmental procedures; report unsafe acts and hazardous conditions.
- Adhere to RTX's Code of Ethics and report suspected violations.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
You Must Have:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), CNC machines, manual lathes or similar inspection equipment.
