Grinder Machinist

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Precision Machinist to join our team in a dual‑capacity role. This position offers the best of both worlds: the high‑stakes precision of surface grinding and the fast‑paced production of CNC milling. You will spend 50% of your time mastering finishes on our Okamoto 1224 DX and the other 50% driving productivity on our Haas Vertical Machining Centers.

• Precision Setups:
  Set up and operate the Okamoto 1224 DX to achieve exacting tolerances
• Wheel Management:
  Select, dress, and balance appropriate grinding wheels based on material type and required surface finish (RMS)
• Magnetic Chuck Mastery:
  Utilize magnetic chucks and sine plates for grinding flat, parallel, and angled surfaces
• In‑Process Inspection:
  Perform frequent checks using micrometers, height gauges, and profilometers to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications

• Machine Operation:
  Load programs, set tool offsets, and establish work coordinates (G54–G59) on Haas VMC platforms
• Tooling & Hardware:
  Select and install appropriate carbide end mills, drills, and taps; swap out worn inserts as necessary
• Cycle Monitoring:
  Monitor the machining process for chatter, tool wear, or chip evacuation issues, adjusting feeds and speeds via the Haas control when necessary
• Deburring & Finishing:
  Clean and deburr parts during the machining cycle to maintain a steady workflow
